It is truly an honor to be selected as an adoptive family for the 7th Annual Lipscomb Adoption Rally!!!
You may remember that in the process to Zo, we were one of the beneficiaries of this event.
Look at my babies!!! They were so little!
We didn’t know then that little Zo was about 8 weeks along gestation. <3
We have been going to this rally every year since. We went in 2016 and were asked to come down at halftime so the Lipscomb fans could see one of the children they have helped bring home:
The whole Star Wars “cast” snagged a picture with Ro and O:
And of course we went in 2017 too! O was feeling a little under the weather but insisted on going to see Chewbacca and the X Wing Fighter Pilots and “maybe Zo won’t be scared of Star Wars anymore, Mommy!”
It has been an absolute joy to go year after year. It is such a fun event and 100% of the proceeds go directly to adoptive families here in middle Tennessee. One Hundred Percent.
In fact, Lipscomb has raised over $100,000 for Adoptive families in middle TN to date!!
The Lipscomb Adoption Rally Basketball game (Lipscomb vs NJIT) will be February 3rd, getting underway at Noon with the women’s game followed by the men’s game at 4 (Adoptive Families typically are announced during halftime of the men’s game). It will also be the annual Star Wars game, with a number of costumed characters from the movie as well as free Star Wars themed T-Shirts. They will also have balloon animals and a bounce house for the kids.
They have secured a friendly URL for friends and families to buy their tickets for the game ($10 per person). You can go here to purchase them: http://www.adoptionrallytickets.com
Right before you submit payment, you will be able to select the family you wish to support, ours or one of the others, or simply split your purchase between all of us!
And, another great thing about this…some of our CLOSE adoptive friends also were chosen <3 I will let them announce themselves before I post their names, but I’m super stoked. We cried and prayed and yearned together for our children the first journey and now we are doing it again together, even as adoptive families for this Lipscomb game!!
So there you have it! I hope you can come! If you can, let us know <3 We will be the family with the most adorable kids all dressed up…pretty sure they are going as Kylo Ren, Rey, and Princess Leia, but of course they may change their minds last minute 😉
$100,000 raised in the last 6 years and counting. We’d love to see you there!
